EXPERIMENTING WITH THE MAP OF THE FUR

I started out tracing off my fur and creating a pattern to play with.



I took the pattern and started slicing it in different ways and playing with the pieces and the mannequin. I didn’t want to lose the integrity of the fur so I used the entire hide to map out pieces.



I started looking more closely at the shape of the hide, the silhouette that was already written for me. I wanted to create a copy of it so that there were no straight lines. I wanted the organic feeling, that the animal was still present.

    The paper images are quite beautiful - it's interesting that the mapping of the leather has generated this. This potential has been unleashed through your actions :o)
